Restraining the Self’s (Nafs) Inclination Towards Relativism and Subjectivism. This is a translation of another chapter from the book “The Liberal Mindset” by Sheikh ‘Abdul ‘Azeez At-Turayfy. As with other chapters in the book, the Sheikh reveals how the Self guides and misguides Liberal thought by means of methods exposed in the Qur’aan and Sunnah. The Sheikh also outlines the steps towards curbing this influence, and outlines the requirements for an objective evaluation of ideas and notions. This chapter has been abridged slightly and paraphrased for clarity whenever appropriate.
